Ages 8-12. Fabric, notions, thread and pattern for your choice of garment(s) to sew not included. Are you tired to spending money on pipe cleaner animal camps? This camp is about learning life long skills while having fun. Learn: sewing safety, pattern modification, fabric layout and cutting, and machine sewing. The difficulty of the projects will be tailored to each participants’ capabilities, but the intention is to create a “real”, wearable, trendy outfit.
As well, each participant will need 4 garments to embellish; we suggest going to Value Village or another second hand store to get 2 pairs of jeans, 1 jean jacket and 1 top. We will use a variety of craft techniques to remake them into one-of-a-kind creations. A digital camera would be useful but not necessary.
Crafts: Flower Power times two, fabric painting, crystallizing, card making, machine embroidery, etc. The intention is to create truly useable crafts.

My wedding dress designed by Robin and I.  The train and back were made from 40 year old French lace recycled from my mother’s lace over skirt.  I will gladly incorporate lace or momentous from your previous generations in your dress too.

Son 2’s machine quilted duvet cover (Daddy designed, Mommy made) to go with his “underwater” themed bedroom

Text Box: —don’t forget the guys; they like custom made clothing as well! Shirts, pants, shorts, Pj’s, swimsuits, etc.

Sunburns are a leading cause of skin cancer—these full length one piece bathing suits kept my kids protected for several years.  Yes!  Son 2’s is a Star Trek design, with communicator patch and everything!

As they grew, I made full length shirts and separate pants for them.

My kids grew slowly, but even so, I made them “Grow With Me” clothes—note the corduroy pants have 6” of the Dalmatian print (matching the shirt) turn up lining at the bottom.  As well, the pants had removable  suspenders and an adjustable waist band to grow with them.

These were a favourite of both my boys!
