About Us

Sizing Matters is a family owned business dedicated to making Custom Tailored Bras for women for whom mass-manufactured commercial bras don’t meet their needs either physically or creatively.  

Alison Empey is Professional Engineer by training with an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.  She was involved in the automotive manufacturing industry for 20 years.  She has also been involved in the Health Care industry of Retirement and Nursing Homes. 

Alison (aka “Honey” and “Mommy”) has also been designing and sewing for well over 30 years.  When she tired of the business rat race and of working 11-16 hours per day for someone else, she decided to take more control over her life and provide her 2 wonderful tween boys and adoring husband with more Mommy/wife time.  Enter Sizing Matters where she can use her engineering and problem solving skills to help women in need!
